I’m going to give mine one more shot.
He loves licking blood off deer whenever we shoot one.
He’s 12 or 13. But he deserves another shot.
He’s ferocious with small woodland creatures, particularly dillos and possums.

Be damn glad when I break him from biting . Sharp teeth is killing me . You let him he'll bite a little and look at you then he'll clamp down . May have to introduce him to a fly flap on that one but he is getting better

I know it sounds crazy, but I have a Feist that was a biter like that as a puppy. Found online where someone said that if they didn't socialize long enough with their sibling pups, they may not know what they are doing is wrong. To fix it, you need to do what the other pups or mom would do if they bit them - squeal loud or make a real quick high pitch sound and pull back acting like it hurt. I started doing this and it's crazy but it worked, the first couple of times she would jump back acting surprised and just look at me. Didn't take long before she realized it was her biting that did it and stopped.

I'm trying that now he's getting better . What I hate is when he sneak up on my bare feet and nails my toes . He'll grow out of it . He's a smart one and don't mis nothing

When I decided I wanted a dog for blood trailing I purchased this book https://www.amazon.com/Tracking-Dogs-Finding-Wounded-Deer/dp/0972508929. Very informative and tells you exactly how to train. Even if you don't plan to do serious tracking I recommend reading and doing some of these things with your pup. Its a great bonding exercise and a fun one. Plus you never know what could become of it. Never thought my beagle would do as good as she does.

We have had a buncha good dogs through the years that would find a deer...we never called anybody..ever...our yard dogs would suffice...we hunted basically in the back yard and around the house and there were on average 10-15 deer hangin in the trees in a season on an off bein gutted an the dogs just eat the guts an legs an other parts..lapped up the blood...heck bout any of our chit eaters would find wounded deer. Best dog we ever had was a basset hound crossed with an american bull dog...his name was barney carl...a fine and rather famous animal..quiet remarkable actually...we loved that dog..as a pet..he stayed in the house bout 50% of the time..but it never failed..wed kill a deer..an he would dang near eat the carcass alone..he just for whatever reason..loved deer blood..it was like a drug to him...we figured out by the time he was about 2 that hed trail deer..after he started locatin every deer we looked for that was mortally wounded within reason..we realised we had somethin..we never charged nothin..but he made most every hunting trip we went on after that..never got paid i say...but barney got bought a couple diamond jims ribeyes. He found the biggest deer i ever killed in alabama..an i grilled him a porkchop..gotta treat the help right😁
