Snapper check. Game check. Reef license. Baiting license. Unconstitutional mask mandates. Non essential stay your ass at home. Follow the arrows on the floor. Only one way in or out. The instructions on the loud speakers will tell you what to do.

They have to record the gamecheck crap before they can take in a deer for processing. Basically forcing them to be an officer for the state.

Doesn't really sound any different then getting carded for beer.... unless they have to report you or detain you for not having paperwork.

I really don’t get the making the processor be a officer of the state. When really the way I understand it they just have to supply a place for you to write down your number before they take possession of your deer. Am I interpreting it wrong, is there more to it than that?

ALDCNR had other cheaper, easier options when considering some kind go game check to count deer killed...like fill out a game killed form when ya buy a new license like the Feds do. But no, too easy, so we have criminalized game check eight ways to Sunday. They going to push one too many reg soon and the result won't be pretty.

Its easier than checking property and such all day. They can just park at the processors and collect checks for the state.

Exactly; if some processor is shutting down over this; they were looking for a reason.
Does not even register on my giveachit scale.

It's clearly an unfunded state mandate. I can't blame the processors for rejecting the bullschit rule.

Does it actually say the processor must verify your number, or they just have to record it. If it is record it all they have to do is make a spot on the paper you already fill out for you to write it down. Would be a huge difference.

I agree if it's just that the deer has to have a number with it than it's not really a big deal. Last time I went to reeds you had to fill out paperwork anyway, and like it or not it is the law to game check it. I do my own now so I dont really care. If they have to make sure the number is valid then that is an actual burden put on them that shouldn't be. When i hire Mexicans I have to have a SS card and ID. I know they aren't legit but it isn't my place to check it out. That is the leo's job

Will the processors be wearing mask when they collect the game check data?

That is prolly the easy way around it. Like when a cashier punches in a random birthday to sell you beer cause they know you are old enough.

Sounds like you understand it. The problem is, legitimate processors are going to enforce the stupid regulation and there will be a percentage of the hunting population that will either try and play dumb and get pissed at the processor, or simply get pissed at the processor for even asking for the # because " How dare you? You're not an officer of the state even though that's what I accused the govment of making you with this stupid rule...

I read their post, it says they're still "weighing the decision" and may start later in the season, so why then did they decide to make a post that says after 30 years they made the difficult decision to not process deer this season, if they're still "weighing the decision" Reckon they're just needing some attention lol

I’ll give them a number alright.

Since my kills are out of state anyway, it isn’t their business what I checked in.

Been thinking for a few weeks about calling my rep up here about this. From the sounds of things the legislature isn’t friendly with the DCNR either these days.

Thank goodness I don’t hunt in this state
