I forgot about that little place. But yeah, the original Dreamland is nothing but nostalgia.

BBQ is so personal it's hard to do a best and worst compilation. For example, 257 clearly hates Big Bob Gibson's in Decatur, but there are things there I think are very good. Like chicken and brisket. I've heard some people like well-done steak but for me I can't imagine ever thinking such a steak is 'good.'

*Chicken and brisket aren't bbq..........they may be "bbq-style chicken and brisket", but they're not bbq.

"BBQ" is pork, cooked low and slow. /thread

The awfulness of Dreamland ribs has been covered. I’m routinely unimpressed with Johnny Rays during the times I’ve been forced to go there.

Good:
- outside sliced pork at Golden Rule with their sauce
- Moes Wings
- Saws

You probably drive a F250 gas burner, thinking like that.

I was in there two weeks ago. Total disgrace I'll agree. I ate at the original location last football season and it was decent.

I think the pit makes a difference. Original is better than Northport. B'ham is better also. Or maybe it's just me.

A) you are incorrect in your assessment of my choice of vehicular transportation

B) I was stating a fact, not asking others' opinion. It wasn't up for debate.

Several good ones, Sam's BBQ in Montgomery , Saw's in Bham, BBQ 65 in Greenville.
Sonny's is by far the worst I have ever had with dreamland being a close second.

As stated...Moe's wings are legit. We need a BHAM meet & greet there soon.

I actually like full moon. Back in the day, it was hard to beat bunyans bbq in Florence.

Back in the day when the old crew did the cooking the old fashioned way with burned down hickory coals, it was prolly the best in the state. Now, nothing special , it'll just make a turd .

So since I live in Selma, I will second Hancocks..I love their sauce. it isn't meat syrup.

There's also a place near where my sister lives in Pinson, called Ken's BBQ, right off the Pinson Valley Parkway...delish! Haven't been there since Covid crap, I'm assuming they're still there.

The 2 best I have ever had are now closed, 231 BBQ and The BBQ Shack. The worst I've had around here is Dobb's.

Sam's Smokehouse in Fayette is hard to beat. I don't like Dreamland ribs but I think their pulled pork sandwich is one of the best around here
