The best is Jim's BBQ on 82 near Billingsley. The worst by far is Dreamland. I forgot about that little place. But yeah, the original Dreamland is nothing but nostalgia. BBQ is so personal it's hard to do a best and worst compilation. For example, 257 clearly hates Big Bob Gibson's in Decatur, but there are things there I think are very good. Like chicken and brisket. I've heard some people like well-done steak but for me I can't imagine ever thinking such a steak is 'good.'

Dreamland is HOT GARBAGE. The original Dreamland, 15+ yrs ago, was great. Once they started branching out, the quality went downhill. I haven't eaten at the original one in a long time, but the one in Northport is atrocious and they should be ashamed to even put the Dreamland name on it.
I was in there two weeks ago. Total disgrace I'll agree. I ate at the original location last football season and it was decent. I think the pit makes a difference. Original is better than Northport. B'ham is better also. Or maybe it's just me.

You probably drive a F250 gas burner, thinking like that. A) you are incorrect in your assessment of my choice of vehicular transportation B) I was stating a fact, not asking others' opinion. It wasn't up for debate.

Mud creek BBQ in Scottsboro is just plain nasty. It tastes like microwaved meat with liquid smoke on it Back in the day when the old crew did the cooking the old fashioned way with burned down hickory coals, it was prolly the best in the state. Now, nothing special , it'll just make a turd .

The 2 best I have ever had are now closed, 231 BBQ and The BBQ Shack. The worst I've had around here is Dobb's.

Worst (to me) is Greentop. Used to be the best but they have changed over the years

Sam's Smokehouse in Fayette is hard to beat. I don't like Dreamland ribs but I think their pulled pork sandwich is one of the best around here
