Jim's in Billingsley is the best around. I mean, you said it and I said it. Should be the end of discussion. Jim's is hands down the best BBQ in the world. Case closed. But do they have good stew? Who the hell cares about stew???? We're talking about BBQ.

Ya gotta start with good BBQ to make good Brunswick Stew.

How in the hell has Lawlers not been mentioned as the worst? That shucks's nasty crockpot bbq
Saw's is good.
Moe's wings are awesome.
Someone mentioned Jim-n-Nicks earlier...the only thing I like there are their spare ribs. They're pretty good, plus you can call in and pick them up in 15-20min, pretty convenient and not horribly expensive.

*Chicken and brisket aren't bbq..........they may be "bbq-style chicken and brisket", but they're not bbq.
"BBQ" is pork, cooked low and slow. /thread
You probably drive a F250 gas burner, thinking like that. A) you are incorrect in your assessment of my choice of vehicular transportation B) I was stating a fact, not asking others' opinion. It wasn't up for debate. You think brisket isn’t BBQ, so as a matter of fact you’re an absolute Gomer. Not debatable. Stupid. You probably also think your local Mexican joint serves authentic Mexican, the local China buffet’s Kung Pao Beef is really cow and not cat, and that the strippers really like you. Fortunately you live in a country where you’re free to be as wrong as you want to be.

Sam's Smokehouse in Fayette is hard to beat. I don't like Dreamland ribs but I think their pulled pork sandwich is one of the best around here I do like me some sams with that mustard sauce

Jim's is good as is Lannie's in Selma. Hancocks is good too but since I live a mile from there I guess I overlook it. The sauce, I really like but not too much to overpower the meat.
I'm old because I remember a time when there was only one Dreamland and they didn't serve BBQ, only ribs. I was in there one time and a girl at the next table ordered a BBQ sandwich and the waitress laughed and told her it would be awhile because they would have to cook a butt for her. Those ribs were some count back then when Big Daddy tended the pit.
The best BBQ easily was when John Henry Todd worked for the City of Selma and the City had a big pit by the stadium and Civic organizations would have Charity BBQs with John Henry as the pit master and they used Carl Morgan's sauce ( a clear vinegar based) recipe.
The worst is hard to say because I've had some that is far from memorable enough that I don't remember it. Anyplace that serves BBQ from a can or pre cooked days in advance makes this list.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

Is Chuck's in Opelika still open? Was not the very best I have ever had but was really good. Ate there many weekends after drill with the 111th Ord. Group in Opelika. It’s still open

Lannies is spectacular. I like that you can take them any piece of meat and they'll smoke it for you.

Hancock's is average BBQ. It'll do for a quick lunch between hunts.

Whitt’s especially with their hot bbq sauce on it. why oh why ain’t there one down here in Shelby County?
B&K in Clanton is a nice hole in the wall place. Love their ribs with their sauce. It’s a sloppy rib. I usually prefer a dry rubbed rib.
Ain’t found none other than Moe’s in Birmingham worth bragging on. And their best attribute is the side items. But haven’t had Saws yet.

The best is Jim's BBQ on 82 near Billingsley. The worst by far is Dreamland. I concur on the Dreamland reference.

BBQ 65 in Greenville is really good.
Bob Gibson’s in Decatur and Stoney’s in Satsuma I was really disappointed.
