BBQ is overrated.
I’d rather have fresh gulf seafood, or authentic Cajun cuisine. That ain’t what you asked but I told you anyway 😀

Years and years ago there was a little bitty block building hole in the wall on the side of 231 in Wetumpka called Smokin’ S Bar-B-Q that was sure ‘nuff slap yo momma good. I doubt it’s there anymore, that place was almost directly across from where Wind Creek Stivo’s Hotel & Casino is built now.

There's not a whole lot of BBQ to chose from around here. Best BBQ sammich is Wilsons in Albertville or Simmons in G'ville. Worst ribs, with run away victory is Wilsons in Albertville, unless you really like boiled ribs with BBQ sauce on them. Probably our best bang for our buck in Albertville is Local Joes. Never had a bad meal there.
Barry's BBQ is good, just gotta drive to Sardis or Rainsville to eat it.

Worst in Alabama is Dreamland although incredibly there a place in Maryville Tn that’s worse. Hard to pick a best but I would go with 306. I know a place in Brooksville Fl. and Chesapeake Va. that will flat out bend your curve on what you think is good BBQ is. What is this place In Brooksville you speak of?

Jim's in Billingsley is the best around. I mean, you said it and I said it. Should be the end of discussion. Jim's is hands down the best BBQ in the world. Case closed.

*Chicken and brisket aren't bbq..........they may be "bbq-style chicken and brisket", but they're not bbq.
"BBQ" is pork, cooked low and slow. /thread
You probably drive a F250 gas burner, thinking like that. A) you are incorrect in your assessment of my choice of vehicular transportation B) I was stating a fact, not asking others' opinion. It wasn't up for debate. You think brisket isn’t BBQ, so as a matter of fact you’re an absolute Gomer. Not debatable. Stupid.

The best is Jim's BBQ on 82 near Billingsley. The worst by far is Dreamland. Agree on both. Best ribs are at Sam’s smokehouse in Fayette.

They do have really good burgers but their BBQ is hardly worth a mention. Just average at best.

Worst (to me) is Greentop. Used to be the best but they have changed over the years I second the greentop vote. Also add dreamland to suck list 30 years ago I would say Greentop was great. Last time I tried to eat there I left it and hit a drive through.

LO Bishop fresh off the pit is dang good. Hickory smoked is what you taste complimenting the meat. We get it packed from Foodland and is good. Pit BBQ is better with hickory smoke and nothing else besides salt to help hold the moisture.

Worst. Very easy. Big Bob Gibson. In Decatur. Best. Chuck wagon in Madison/HSV and Whitt’s Worst is Jim & Nicks. Agree on best. The owner lives a couple of houses down from me. I see his catering trailer every day. Just sucks
