I think so. Even if it's reopened it's not the original owners.

I’m shocked no one has mentioned the Brick Pit in Mobile. It’s been closed for a while but it was definitely pretty good! Dreamland’s ribs are terrible but their chicken wasn’t too bad.

It is a Mexican place now. I'm told it was good years ago, but when I went there in the 90's I wasn't too impressed.

Plenty of times. It is good. They only do breakfast and lunch though so they miss the supper business.

May I add another for the awful list: Lawlers bbq chain stores in N AL. Do not waste your time there. I just passed the one in cullman and it reminded me how bad it is

Not that it matters, these places are long gone, but there used to be some really great BBQ in Mobile, The Brick Pit has been mentioned, Fletchers BBQ, Ossies, a few more places my dad would take me to on the other side of the tracks, if you know what I mean. Now we have Dreamland, Dickeys, Moe's, seems like when the world went to hell, good BBQ went with it....

Back in the 80s I used to cut a 300 acre hay field just off hwy 82 near Billingsley. I'd go over to Jim's and sit in the corner (at the table with Mr Jim) and we'd talk about football and turkey hunting.
He would be there from 4am until 10pm 4 to 5 days a week. He was dedicated to cooking world class BBQ and loved what he did. Although he was an obnoxious Bama fan, I loved that old man.

I mentioned this earlier. I couldn't believe no one had added them in the worst category. Crockpot meat at it's worst

They opened one in Scottsboro a few years ago, didn't stay open long. Hillbillies know good BBQ and they didn't have any.
