Classic burger and BBQ in Bessemer. When you ask for outside chop, you get outside chop. Never been disappointed with any meal there.
Bob Sykes has probably been mentioned already. Gotta have a good credit score to eat there.
Full Moon tastes ok. Never get the order right.
Jim N Nicks is decent. Not my favorite.
Johnny Rays is decent, not as good since owners divorced.
Character is not developed in moments of temptation and trial. That is when it is intended to be used.

Not that it matters, these places are long gone, but there used to be some really great BBQ in Mobile, The Brick Pit has been mentioned, Fletchers BBQ, Ossies, a few more places my dad would take me to on the other side of the tracks, if you know what I mean. Now we have Dreamland, Dickeys, Moe's, seems like when the world went to hell, good BBQ went with it.... Chuck we ordered our Christmas Party ribs from Bay BBQ on Florida street last year, and they were some count. Have you tried Meat Boss? I've heard some decent reviews, but they're always packed when i pass by. So i never stop lol...

BBQ sandwich. Bottom bun, light mayo, 3 dill pickle chips, hand full pulled meat, vinegar based hot sauce, vinegar slaw, top bun with a touch of mustard. That sounds absolutely horrible. Agreed. I'll throw a few thoughts of mine in. Original Dreamland, back in the day, when Big Daddy Bishop sat and sweated over the pit, was some fine rib eating. Haven't been back there in a long time. The franchise location in Northport is the only one of the franchises that I have eaten at. They ought to be ashamed for even having the letters "BBQ" on the menu. That place is at the very bottom of the "worst" list in my opinion. Had a buddy recommend BBG in Decatur one time. If he already didn't have a bad knee I'd kick him in his knee. Nothing special about it to me. Near the bottom of list. I've had some good ribs from Sam's Smokehouse in Fayette. Occasionally, I eat at Thomas/Woodrow's BBQ in Northport, which is pretty decent. Chain restaurant BBQ for me that is okay would be Full Moon. I did say okay and not great. Renee Robertson fixes some pretty decent BBQ. I've passed by the Jim's place on 82 many times and have thought about stopping there but never have. Are they open on weekends and at night?

I don't know if he's still around but there was an old black man that used to sale pulled pork sandwiches and ribs out back of 1048 Jazz Club in Old Cloverdale in Montgomery. I'm sure my B A C. contributed to my enjoyment of those sandwiches but other than the old Smokehouse in Millbrook hot pulled pork sandwich they were the best I've ever had.

I just checked. I'm 86 miles, one way, from Jim's. Little far of a drive just for BBQ but I will give it a try next time I'm down that way.

What do y'all like on a BBQ sandwich.... A little mayo, dill pickle, vinegar-based cole slaw and some hot pepper sauce. Plain pork, I usually go with no sauce. Sammich, the works.

If all I wanted was just meat and bread I'd just eat the meat Exactly. Now toast the bun and use it to sop the beans.

Quite aways. If you get off in Prattville it's probably 25/30 minutes west on 82, depending on Prattville traffic.
