How do you already know what unit you are assigned. I still haven't been told which unit I am assigned to. I drew the archery hunt on 1/28/2021. I was told I would receive an email but have not.

I’m looking for info on zone 14 if anybody has any to share. My buddy got drawn for the youth hunt and neither of us can make the scouting trip.

I got my email last night and I'm in Zone 6 Jan 14th. It's time to do some cyber scouting.

When we squirrel hunted 6 it was october and the plots werent planted yet. We saw a couple bucks crossing the swamp on the south end of 6 where 6 and 14 meet. We also saw hogs coming from that field at the south end of 6 moving into the swamp. That road along the river is all hard woods and we saw quite a few deer traveling it. There is an old gravel boat launch about half way up that road and we saw deer traveling through that general area towards the road that cuts through the middle of 6. That road through the middle of 6 will be the road everyone hunting north of you will be traveling so keep that in mind. I would pick a plot and hunt it the first morning and then walk that road along the river looking for sign and trails going from the oaks to the plots. Its a pretty area, huge oaks and chestnuts or some kind of nuts. We never really went to the east side. The deer there are used to vehicle traffic and it doesnt spook them off too far. When you sign in the warden will tell you which plots are planted if you ask. The plots arent that great looking and are right by the roads but the deer use them. Any other questions let me know.
