I put out about 50 pounds of ryegrass seed a week ago on a bare hillside behind the house, to help keep it from washing out.....I'm pretty sure the damned doves and the neighbor's guineas have eaten every last frickin' seed I put out. Sonsabeeches.

I've been watering it. set up one of those tri-pod sprinklers which had the added bonus of running the birds off temporarily, but can't run it all day every day. Which I could put it on a motion sensor.

Watering ryegrass for a week and it didn't sprout yet? Hmmmmmm

If you tried throw and mow on a bare hillside, the mowing part might have thrown the seed off of the hillside... grin

I've watered it 2x/day for about 15 minutes each. Once early morning before sun gets on it and late afternoon/early evening. I have no idea if that's ideal, but I just kinda rolled with it. figured that was more or less equivalent to a light rain periodically

EDIT.....I said a week ago, it was Sat, so it's been 5 days. bag said 7-10 days to germinate?
