Wife was taken back about an hour ago for emergency gall bladder surgery. I wasn’t here when the doc came in but for those of who who went through this can you enlighten me on what changes are coming such as food she can have and anything else? I don’t even know the recovery time although I’d image at least a couple weeks of restrictions. She’s the main cook in the house and I’m worried I’m not gonna get good food anymore lol

My wife was on regular diet within 2 days. No symptoms n handled it like a champ. YMMV

Wife had hers done about 15 years ago, so i don't remember much, but i know she won't stray far from the bathroom after she eats 🤗

Mine was back at it in a few days to a week. But better keep a roll of TP handy for a while.

Hope my wife has a similar outcome. She was telling me she wouldn’t be able to eat Mexican anymore. That would mean I wouldn’t either for the most part. Hate to sound greedy but she went on a diet one time and only cooked diet stuff and I hated every minute of it and do not ever want a repeat of that

Mom had it several years ago - the only negative I remember was greasy foods weren’t good.

Sounds like you need to learn to cook, or at least how to open a can of Beenie weenies Jasper 😂

My wife had hers removed about 2 weeks ago. She went back to a normal diet in 3-4 days and has no problems. She feels much better.

The people I know that have had it have all told me that they can't eat real spicy or fatty food anymore and to be close to a toilet after they eat. Maybe the people that go back to a regular diet tended not to eat spicy or fatty foods before theirs was removed.

I had mine removed couple years ago. For a year I had to stay near a bathroom or else.

Everyone tolerates it diff but very bland food for at least a week to let your body learn to handle fats and greasy foods. Some people do better than others but I cant eat greasy foods and be far from the head!!

I can cook just fine lol love to grill but I’d sure hate to have to do it every day during hunting season. It will be fine we will adjust until she gets back to normal. She’s out of surgery and everything is good she’s just sleeping. Waiting for her to wake up some before I head home

Had mine out 8-9 years ago. Pulled it out on a Friday morning, went back to work on Monday. Greasy pork and Cheez-It's are taboo now, I have terrible nausea if I eat either of them.
