On upbeat news of rona vaccine. Within 100 points of 30000. I figured it would have started tanking with Biden presumptive election.

Time in the market beats timing the market.

If the Rs lose the Senate , it'll go down faster than this run up last few days.

Not sure. The Democrats would go on a spending spree. It might run up for a year.

I converted most of mine to cash/bonds last Friday. Too old to gamble anymore. Kind of odd, though. Always heard that the market does not like uncertainty, and we are certainly living in uncertain times.

There is no uncertainty right now. Their plan is coming together perfectly.

Every stock I have is trending up since Thursday. I had assumed with a Biden win everything would have trended downward. The dems wont be able to keep the market up especially if they get some of their plans implemented.

Market favors Rs or divided government . If it's one party rule historically it doesn't like all Dems.

Where are all our resident aldeer stock experts that were telling everyone to get out ot the market and move everything to cash and bonds the week before the election? I'm sure they will be on here shortly saying they immediately recognized the hidden opportunity of a Biden win and jumped back into the market the day after the election and have all been enjoying astronomical gains on their brillian plays for the past 3-4 days.

The market no longer moves based on the intrinsic metrics, balance sheets, performance, leadership and values behind the companies listed anymore. It is all about emotion, hype, and institutional investors and brokerage houses manipulating the volumes and prices of certain market segments by jumping in an out, taking profits, forcing the drop then re-investing. Rinse, repeat, rinse repeat.

If you are near retirement or in a situation where you've got to protect your nest egg, then the market is certainly not the place to be for you right now. 2Dogs, you're correct. If the dems win the senate, you'll see the big drop that everyone was expecting with a "media pronounced" Biden win.

Can't say about Aldeer experts , however, I know a financial planner in Scottsboro who did. He also yanked $ out back in Jan the day of all time high and poured it back in about the time it was at it's lowest in March. My wife has an account with him, she thinks he's a genius , I'll not argue the point.

I’d like to see him do it again. If he’s right even 55% of the time, he could easily own Giles Island, and overtake Buffet laugh

The market is a house of cards that is no longer based on fundamentals. Any news good or bad can create swings.

I am not one of the financial experts you are referring to because I have never told anyone to pull their money. The best strategy for making money in any market is to dollar cost average your investments over a long period of time. Trying to get in/out and timing market swings is nothing short of simply gambling. You might hit one big but if you keep playing, in the end, the House will ultimately win.

No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.

The market likes Biden for the short term because a Biden presidency means more Fed money. They got stupid rich off Obama and Trump. Trump had an economic plan to be fair but his spending was just as out of control.. Biden's plan will be more Fed money. Economy slows because of bad policy... more Fed money. Uncharted waters is where we have been and will continue to be until something major happens and the scary thing is when that does happen we will be helpless.

Energy stocks. As they go, so goes the market. WTI oil is currently up $3.17/bbl.

Carnival must love the vaccine news. It's up over $5 a share today.
