Past Ol’ man Finley’s plac...
I’m looking for a cheap pair, something compact like a 10x42. Vortex, bushnell etc...

Cabela's flyer today has the Vortex Viper HD 10x42 regular price $499.99 for sale at $299.00 and a Leupold BX-2 the Alpine 10x42 regular $249.99 for $149.00 but that 2nd one the price is only good next Friday/Black Friday.

Probably the lowest price on Vortex will be in the $125-$150 range. You can probably get a pari of Nikons or Bushnells for $50-$75.

I’ve got a small compact pair that I never use. I’ll hit you with a pm...if you can use them, I’ll give them to you man.

I like the Nikons I found for $100 about 10 years back.

I wouldn't describe 10x42 as a compact binocular. If you're looking for something to use in the woods I suggest an 8x30 or 8x32 binocular.

Unless you are bird watching, a 10x42 will be bulky and have a small FOV which is not good for use in the woods.

Even an 8x42 is fairly sizable.
