I agree. I miss the heck out of Wiley and Swampy posting on here regularly.

I would guess that there are several here now who were not here when I first started reading in this forum. This isn't to say that I dislike the newer folks, but I sure miss the good old days when the long time members still posted in here regularly.

There's a few, here now, who weren't BORN when we began this forum. 😉

Agreed. It used to be small enough we had voice chats (way before anybody knew what zoom was) and got together for beers an BBQ etc. Such is life though, everything always changes and always will.

Havent seen most of them folks around here lately. I would have loved to have been around in the beginning. I guess we could surely agree 257 adds to the place.

I think I'm the "wart on your knuckle that you hit and make bleed every once and a while" of the place.

I don’t think websites have hearts and souls, and to define the place by a handful of people is silly. This place is made up of thousands and hearing different perspectives is what makes it interesting.

There is no doubt this site is dying, like all web forums are, and if we are depending on the original members to carry us on we might as well shut things down now. It takes new members and growth to keep this place going. Just like a Church, you can’t rely on the founding members to always be there and to do everything, and the attitude that the old timers are the only ones whose opinion matters has been the death of more than one.

Obviously I enjoy the humor here, and miss the way things were a few years back when everybody was constantly joking back and forth, fussing about foosball, and generally having a good time. Not worrying about who the cool kids are and seeing folks get banned for silly stuff while others constantly push things and all is well.

I guess we have to keep our mouths shut or we will hurt someone's feelings.... Piss on that. and the biatch who complained

If folks would act like adults and not 3rd graders then no one would ever get a timeout or banned. This site has one of the loosest ban policies of any site I've been on.

As for the heart and soul, it's definitely the older crowd that keeps this place going. Otherwise the inmates would run the asylum and the place would burn. Someone has to have a level head and by reading this post apparently there are a lot here that don't.

So if somebody wasn’t here on day one, they bring nothing to the table? And what is the cut off date for being one of the cool kids? You may want to take a good look around, the older crowd is posting less and less these days and we are steadily loosing contributing members. Personally I find it boring to read what the same 10 or 15 people have to say everyday.

careful, they`ll just blame it on the younger crowd for the reason they post much. a lot (not all) of the long timers on here don`t have much of a sense of humor. yeah i know my sense of humor isn`t for everybody but damn, some of you need to lighten up a hair. there are folks on here that aren`t a fan of mine but i promise, it doesnt keep me awake at night. Fuzzy is right in my opinion. This site was an absolute riot for a few years.

I dont like hinge cutting. I will hopefully get a few plots in this weekend. Sort of been busy this year and didnt get to mine yet. We have held a council at the camp and a declaration of war has been approved against the beavers on the place. May be busting a few dams this week too. We got to buy new feeders as well. ThNk goodness for the baiting privilege or I would just have to hunt trails this season.

The loss of Wiley torn the heart out of this site. Now the banners and goofy newbies run amuck. Wiley's wit and wisdom is greatly missed. Matt is a cantankerous cuss, but a friend to everyone. I'm glad he's back.

Fuzzy is heartbroken that there is no Aldeer app where he can use his crayons.

Thomas Jefferson. The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Life is too short to only hunt and fish on weekends!

If being a dumbass was fatal some of you would be on your death bed!

I thought you were gone until your crush came back?

I’ve been here 20 years and have never had a timeout due to an amazing thing called maturity. If you let someone on a message board get you so stirred up you have bigger issues than a timeout.
