I don’t know about you fellas but have you noticed the gains in the stock market lately. I guess these COVID vaccine announcements have caused the market to surge the last few weeks. It sure looks good on paper but I’m not sure what to think about it. You think it will continue to have the gains it has recently?

I’m not complaining at all, just wondering if it is sustainable if the election is decided for Biden.

If Biden is elected and starts trying to pass things that are bad for the economy, raising taxes, hurting the middle class, over spending, more lockdowns, more regulations, doing things that hurt businesses, etc.. which he will if he is the one... the market won't like it. Those things will come in time. The democrats do not like good economics. Its all about control. The dems are poor stewards of the economy. Period.

The large banks smell a HUGE stimulus coming.

The stock market usually does well during the inaugural year of any president.

The market will likely do well as the fed continues to flood the economy with money. The downside is erosion and continual weakening of the dollar. Not much alternative unless you want a full scale depression. However, gains adjusted for a weak dollar really ain’t what they seem. If you’re ballsy, consider gold and Bitcoin.

I'm not optimistic about the next four years if Biden gets in. I'm about to turn 50 and was going to start going more conservative
with my retirement but this may hasten things a bit more

Good luck with that approach in the face of devaluation of U.S. currency and sneaky inflation. You may maintain your principal, but it won’t buy near as much.

I'm still mostly cash. The last unemployment checks via the CARES Act ends soon. The moratorium on evictions ends on Dec 31st. When the courts open in 2021, there will be a wave of eviction orders being processed. The next President will not be sworn in until Jan 20th. So probably no more stimulus checks until February at the earliest. By that time it will be too late for a lot of people. I'm waiting to see how the Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales look. Plus the 4th quarter GDP number.

They think they will pass more stimulus (at least at some point) and the COVID vaccine... and also that nothing is going to happen until January when Biden takes over.

They don't take 2 months off.

About the only thing that can hurt the market right now is weak economic numbers which are there if you want to look at them. A lot of the weakness in earnings and the COVID excuses are going to be played out at some point. Some industries are not going to come back. I think there will be weakness in commercial real estate at some point a bunch of places are going to close stores and go out of business. Office space is another place in the real estate sector I see trouble ahead for. We want to act like what is going on in Cali and New York doesn't have an impact on us but it will.

Right now we are just printing more money so all's good as long as the China doesn't withhold the ink from us. Pretty sure their plan is for us to print ourselves into oblivion.

No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.
