Since BM95 isn't much on details I'll add the following: I've seen and shot this gun. It's in very good condition. I've gone through it and cleaned it a couple years ago and replaced the recoil buffer. Has a few handling marks but for a 1968 model that's been used but not abused, it's to be expected Buy with confidence, Nic is a good guy to deal with

A BAR Safari is some new fangled stuff. The pre '76, true Belgium guns were grades I , II , III, IV , V.

A 68 should be a true Belgium browning...thats manufactured and assembled...they moved assembly to portual in the early to mid 70's with the type 2..i think. I have a grade 1 and 2..my brother has a newer portugal gun..good gun..but you gotta watch what you shoot out of the type 2 and newer guns..the bolts will bust..i think hes put like 6 bolts in his due to shooting higher quality bullets..cheapest crap you can find..shoots like a charm..anything nicer than than high end hornady...bust the bolt like a cracker...the older type ones..will bang whatever you put in them...that comes straight from a retired browning master smith. He educated me and my brother both on the shortcomings of newer brownings...older is always better on these guns and blr too..apparently the newer ones will bust the outer reciever if you shootem enough..stuff like that. Thats what makes this one so special..id buy it if i could afford it..this is a dang good gun.

Ok so after some discussion it was brought to my attention that my memory ain’t as good as I thought it was. I don’t know where I got the idea this rifle was a 68 model. The SN is formatted in a way Browning shows them to be formatted through 1975. Beginning in 1976 they started using two letters to designate the year. Using the old style formatting would date this rifle to 1977, but per browning it should have the newer SN format with the two letters for the year which is does not. So I don’t know what year this gun was made. It DOES say “Assembled in Portugal” on the barrel so it’s not a 60s era gu
