Would the wind today affect siting in a gun very much? I wouldn’t think 50-100 yards would make a ton of difference but wanted to be sure.

I would think the wind could make a little difference when siting in a gun.....especially if your siting in past 100yds er so.....

Did you know that Beer Nutz are over a Dollar...and Deer Nutz are under a Buck...

Yea. Well have 300 yard shots. Thinking if it blows it even half an inch at 100 could be a few inches off at 300.

If you can get the wind to your back it won’t affect it very much. Even with a 10-15 mph cross wind it won’t shift impact but a couple of inches at 50-100 yds.

100 or less shld be fine. I wouldn’t (try to) tune it at 300 in these conditions.

If you are just siting, sighting, in to get it on paper to hunt this weekend, I think it would be fine. However, if you are trying to get a true idea of what the gun will do, I would wait.

Ok. Ammo says 1.8 inches high at 100 is dead on at 200. If I do 50 yards should it be dead on or just a little low? Would it still be rising at 50 yards some? And I got 2 dif ammo. Hornady American whitetail 129 grain interlock. And Norma match 130 grain hpbt. Which ammo y’all prefer out of those 2. All I could get ahold of.

In a 20mph cross wind it’ll drift 1.5’’ or so@ 100yds 12.5’’@300yds. That’s on a 100yd zero.

We always started at 25 yards. If you zero the scope at 25 yards, most deer cartridges will be 1.5 to 2 inches high at 100 and close to dead on at 200. Full disclosure, most of our hunting then was in thicker cover, very few shots over about 150 yards.

I would go ahead and site it in. Its not going to make a big difference at 100yds. Check it later when the winds not blowing.

Don't take what I'm saying as wrong but if your asking these kinda questions you may wanna rethink shooting at 300 yards hunting

I’ve killed many deer at 250-300 hunting bean fields with my browning .270. I don’t hunt on the wind much. Seems like deer lay down around here when wind it up. Never seen much.

I shoot 6.5 mm Hornaday Precision Hunter 143 gr ammo. I found it to be a better fit for my Thompson Center Compass. Deadly accurate. The Hornaday Whitetail just wasn't as accurate for my rifle.

Dude is talking about a 6.5 creed, y’all know what that thing can do pointed in the right direction?
