^ and I don’t want to seem inconsiderate, that wasn’t my intention. I’ve lost family members to this virus. I understand it. We’ve pretty well kept my father in law locked at home over the last 10 months because he does not need to get the virus. We aren’t strapping a mask on him, walking Walmart and telling people to mask up “for his safety”.

Strictly my opinion here.
I'll say this. Everywhere I go, the store, work, gas station, no matter, No one and I mean not 1 single person is without a mask. Only place that I haven't seen a single mask is my hunting club. I don't know what the heck can be done to prevent the spread it but 100% of the people that I know who have contracted it have worn masks religiously. Don't tell me that masks work. I don't believe it. Like someone on here said, "Preventing COVID with a mask is like wearing jeans to keep a fart in." But what else can one do? We can social distance but I swear you're gonna find some hermit somewhere that hasn't been around a person in months who will test positive. (falsely probably though). And speaking of that, I just know there are waaaaay more false positives out there than being reported.
this virus is real and it can kill folks. even healthy ones. I wear my mask because I am up in folks faces a lot with what I do. I don't like it. I don't want the virus but I'm not sure about this vaccine either. How can the same vaccine prevent a virus that can manifest in presentation from absolutely zero symptoms to respiration arrest. I also saw my first patient yesterday who takes Plaquenil (hydroxychloroquine) lupus and caught it bad.
It's just such a crazy time and I just pray that neither me nor my loved ones catch it.

Construction workers wear hard hats and steel toed boots. Doctors and nurses wear masks...Why wouldn't you wear one in crowded indoor spaces?!? N95s and KN95s are now widely available for reasonable prices. https://bonafidemasks.com/face-masks/You realize Construction workers (like me) and heath care workers have to wear it because it's POLICY.

Masks, social distancing, washing hands will never be 100% effective. The goal is to slow down the rate of infection until a vaccine is widely available. You don't want to follow the recommended guidelines, fine with me. Just don't bitch when the government shuts down the economy to help stop the spread. You were given choices, deal with the consequences. Those 15 days back in March were to slow the spread though, right? If lockdowns work to the point of slowing the spread enough, then why hasn’t it slowed enough to open back up? If masks work enough to slow the spread, why hasn’t the spread slowed enough by now? There are far more people wearing masks than not (from my every day sightings). The flu is non existent this year. Is it Because everyone social distancing, masking and washing hands? Weird how that works on the flu, but not the same on covid. Oh and guess what.... now they are screaming about the “new strands” of covid that hopefully our current vaccine will work against. They want people scared. For some reason or another..and it’s working to a massive scale.
The fool tells me his reasons; the wise man persuades me with my own.

I don't believe it... I'm with you, doc. The people that I know that have been the most strict on masks and self quarantining at home, all have caught it anyway. Of course, they are also the same group of people who go get checked at the first sniffle.

Gman, the one you wear is to protect other people. And 9 out of 10 people wearing masks pull them down when they cough 🤦♂️ Oh and those "facts" are found in what research?

I personally don't think mask work worth a chit. For 1 most people aren't wearing them properly, 2 nobody can't tell me it's a good thing for people with chronic sinus problems and allergies to be breathing in your own crap for extended periods of time while wearing a mask. I do however think that personal hygiene and social distancing help. Just my .02

All the Construction and healthcare workers i know (and it's a bunch) wouldn't wear 'em if they weren't forced to. I was behind a hospital just last week and i didn't see one Dr or Nurse wearing one outside the hospital, but y'all carry on, i definitely didn't get back on here to argue with you ditch pickle 👍

Also, if your sick or have been exposed to someone who is....stay the @#$% home and away from other people. If you are in the high risk categories (elderly, any type of compromised immune system etc) again stay the #$%@ home and away from people.

Everyone I know that wears a face covering actually ends up touching their mouth area even more. They then proceed to touch common surfaces like door knobs, sink handles, light switches and such. Most of the people that I know that have gotten Covid are actually vigilant mask-wearers.
