I don't think anyone is denying that there are some card issuing banks that will decline purchases from gun stores. The issue is that the card issuing banks are able to determine in a split second what is being purchased, and making a "decline" based on that...ie, only declining firearm, ammo, mag, etc purchases and letting others go through from the same store. Correct - except most stores use universal pricing codes that will tell the CC company exactly what is being purchased. That's why if you buy two dozen diapers at Krogers you get advertisements for the next three weeks from baby supply companies. UPC codes are not transmitted to the bank, only amounts. The way ads are targeted is that the retailer's software matches your identity (from the credit card) to what you purchase and sells that information to big data companies.

The guy that posted it works as a deputy sheriff in Shelby County. Not sure what he would have to gain by lying. YMMV.

retail merchants and credit card companies use certain codes to group certain type items. if you buy a gallon of milk, it is grouped in a certain code group. T-shirts, a certain code. gas, certain code. they don't know EXACTLY what it is but they know the group code.
most credit card companies will have certain groups they won't allow their funds to pay for...porn, gambling, guns..things like that, they all have a certain group code. so while they may not know you were trying to buy empty magazines, the magazines fell in a group code (probably all grouped in a single code) that contained guns or ammo, or some prohibited group code.

Guys,
Just this past week I purchased .25-06 rifle ammo through Gunbroker. I used my Chase Freedom CC to pay for the purchase. Went though just as always with no issue. Ammo has been shipped and is in route to me. I have knowledge of someone who purchased a handgun YESTERDAY using a Chase Visa from a website with GUN in the name of the site.

I have a friend who sells credit card processing for Hartland. Says they won't do gun stores, titty bars etc I've probably had 20 different banks credit cards. last count I have been in 24 different countries trying to use the aforementioned credit cards, and across the US...except New york, for some reason never got up nor'east. Every bank has their rules. some things in other countries flag a "no sale". it could be as innocent as a kitchen knife, but it comes across as "Dagger, Korea, dangerous" and the banks says, Nope...not today. you might be buying a rug in Montana and it pops as "flammable, chemical" and the bank declines...it's stupid. Soilent green is people..big brother is watching. don't poke the tiger...

I have a friend who sells credit card processing for Hartland. Says they won't do gun stores, titty bars etc I think that is more of a securities rule. Can you imagine how many guys would deny charges in a titty bar if his wife got the statement?

I don’t own any Bitcoin but this further supports an argument for Bitcoin. If big brother is worried enough to censor conservative voices, control what can and can’t be purchased with a credit card and etc ( even though I’m not sure That the above post is true) you think they would ever really let bitcoin “succeed” It already has succeeded. What currency do you think is used on the dark web? I guess my version of succeed is different than "to be used on the dark web". I'm referring to more of an "out in the open, normal, everyday, first choice of currency for everyday people type of currency". I don't argue that there isn't a time and place for bitcoin, it may overtake the world. I just think unless our government can control it, they will try their best to keep it from "succeeding".
The fool tells me his reasons; the wise man persuades me with my own.

My wife gets a notice within seconds everytime I use my card Where and what I bought. She does it for fraud protection but if she knows, they know I get a notification instantly whenever my cards are used, but it only tells me where it was used and the amount.

Yes, all card transactions are monitored, your phone and whereabouts are recorded (when your phone connects to a cell tower they know where you are, only by totally turning off your phone and removing the battery. You have an iphone and can't remove the battery, hmm, guess what?). You go and remove money from your private account at the bank, recorded, it isn't private. You move through your house with Alexa or Goggle assist on, you are recorded. You pass by a place that has a camera, you are recorded and duly noted. There are even small electronics that allow builders to know when you connect and what you connect to on said device. It is a multi billion dollar business and the business of foreign and local gov. to know. Don't believe me? Compliments of the Patriot Act and unlimited surveillance.
