After record breaking high temps in October and the first half of November, things finally cooled off. From about opening day, temps both high and low have been consistently close to average and even a little below. This seems like the first real winter (average) that we have had in over 15 years. The past decade or so it seems we would get one or two cool days and then temps would jump back up for five days. Hope it continues.
Question - Has this resulted in better and more consistent deer movement or no change?

I know here in Clarke county - the first half of January- all but like 1-2 days has had a low in the 30s - not sure if that a record - but it’s not common - much colder than normal and we had a few extended cold snaps in December- good hunting weather

Def cooler/colder this year than the 2 previous (since i've started back gun deer hunting). But way fewer deer sightings this year than 2018 and 2019 seasons for us.
The harder I practice, the luckier I get.

Not only cooler, but much drier. Been a great winter, hope it gets even cooler.

Dang it’s been wet up here. No kidding. You better put it in 4x4 before you leave any maintained road up here. Bad soggy.

Seen and killed more this year than in the previous. I definitely think the weather has helped me.

I went to bed last night expecting to wake up to semi clear skies and 26 degrees. Woke up to a dang 26 cloudy HARD freeze and dang snow/sleet/ice from 11-2. Wasn’t even forecasted! Like the weather folks woke up and said, “Crap y’all it’s about to snow!” Then the sun came out after 3 until 5 and we got the dangdest ice fog you ever seen. It’s slicking over everything. I about died on my front steps a few minutes ago.

A cooler winter, finally, was much needed. Especially for the timber folks

I have seen fewer deer, and almost no bucks in about the same number of hunts this year as last. Feels more like hunting weather, but has not resulted in better deer movement where I hunt.
