Anybody got an update on what’s going on. I can’t go this weekend and trying to figure out if they’re getting close. TIA

Talked to a friend of mine this evening. He hunts there. Said he is see a lot of scrapes all of a sudden but hasn’t seen any chasing as of yet.

We are not far from Lowndes, near Minter in Dallas. The same. Scrapes being refreshed, but not seeing a lot of doe/buck activity yet.

It’s about to get good. Hunted there my whole life and it’s usually best at the end of Jan.

Big bucks are not on their feet yet. Spikes and basket racks starting to get a little frisky. I watched a spike chasing yesterday morning and saw another small buck cruzin. Still a couple weeks from the main show.

My experience in Lowndes was always later in January than earlier. Actual chasing wasn’t expected until Jan 20th till the end of season. Last chasing a I saw was on February 04 a couple years ago when I hunted the mt. Willing area.

I hunt in the same area. We started getting daylight pictures of mature bucks middle of last week. Historically the next 7-10 days have been best for us. They tend to lockdown around the 18th-20th and things pick back up at the end of January.

I hunt in Benton and this weekend is when it usually gets good for us.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Going tomorrow and hope the big boys are moving around. Any more recent intel on this?

I killed a big 6 trailing a doe, Thursday pm. We saw small bucks chasing yesterday

Seen 2 small bucks pushing a doe at first light this morning

I'm in Bullock county, it is just not happening yet, I've seen spikes, 4 pts., and 6pts. (young, small baskets, no shooters) in the same field as does, they are just eating.
