I got mildly sick a few weeks back and could not smell anything at all for 2 days. I never got a COVID test, but gave blood the other day to determine if I had the antibodies, which came back negative. I guess it was just a cold.
One dude I talked to that had it said everything he ate tasted like salt for several days. Ice cream, whatever, just a salt taste was all he could perceive. Yeah I had a bad head cold about 2 months ago, and couldn't taste or smell then as well, which is fairly normal for me when I've got bad head congestion. Eventually after I get up and going during the day the congestion clears out and I can taste and smell fairly normal. But this is totally different, I have little to no congestion, nose is clear, no cough, but can't smell or taste a thing.

I ran a fever of 100.7 for about a day, had awful headaches for about 4 days, mild body aches for about 2 days, and lost my taste/smell for about 2 weeks. I really only felt sick for about a day, i hunted through the body aches and fatigue. Overall it felt like a typical virus you catch from time to time.
My grandmother 83, is a diabetic and has asthma, caught it. It caused her to get dizzy and she fell, breaking her arm. They did put her on oxygen and she did go to ICU for 12hrs to get Oxygen but the entire time the nurses kept saying she was fine and that her broken arm was more a concern that the Covid. She good to go now.

Affects everyone differently. I have taste back at 85% and no smell after 8.5 months. Makes doing the litter box a lot less uncomfortable. Same experience here along with a sure throat that lasted for months and a dry cough that has not completely gone away

Did any of you experience sore eyes?
My wife and I both had noticeable soreness in the back of the eye. Now I did experience that from the few times I was probed lol.

I never lost taste / smell, but it did progress into pneumonia. I tested negative on Sat. but still have pneumonia. when it was at the worst, it felt like the flu. worst thing is that I have not been able to get in the woods since 30 DEC.

I had a headache Wednesday night, Saturday night I started coughing, Sunday my wife tested positive. I haven’t been to the doctor, not hardly coughing anymore but lost sense of smell and taste overnight.

I got tested this afternoon. Won’t know the results foe a few days. Taste and smell are still there but horrible headache, neck ache, and shoulders ache, dizzy, chills, coughing with a heavy chest. They didn’t a flu test too but that came back negative. The nurse seems to think I have it. She said some folks lose both senses, some only one, and some none at all.

I lost me smell/taste Tuesday night. As of today, no smell and no taste. I ate a pice of pizza and the ONLY thing I tasted was a STRONG salt taste, no other flavor just REALLY STRONG SALT.
I drank some moonshine earlier tonight, taste like water.
Cannot smell anything.
Two days into this loss of smell/taste and it’s already getting old.

Do you lose the sense of smell and taste toward the beginning of being positive or the end? Pretty sure I’m positive, wife is hounding me about getting tested to verify. I had fever on Tuesday only, eye ache on Wednesday like described in previous posts, taste is muted today. I think the losing taste and smell comes toward the back end of whatever symptoms you have. I never had any other symptoms, so that’s when I went to get tested. The doctor told me that if I had not had any other symptoms by the time smell and taste is gone then you’re probably not going to have anymore. So I guess as bad as it sucks, it’s better than ending up in the hospital or worse from this crap. For an update, I lost smell and taste on Jan 14th and am just now starting to be able to faintly smell and taste certain things. I can smell scented soaps a little, kinda can smell/taste onion or garlic , and kinda can smell/taste coffee.I’ll say that for now coffee doesn’t smell or taste the same, which makes me sad lol.
