All, I have not hunted this yet, , heard roads were in tough shape. Ok to take 4 wheeler? Not needed? Anybody have thoughts.

NO deer down there. Roads TERRIBLE ! Do not go ! LOL ! Just joking.

The roads should be fine unless we get a lot of rain this weekend, I took my wife's suv down last weekend and got everywhere I needed to go.

Just checked forecast for Midway, looks like 2 days of rain for the hunt.

Before guns and ammo dried up I used to drive down to the Barbour County WMA range to shoot. On the way there it wasn't unusual to see deer through Russell County, but especially once you got into Barbour County. I seen 7 deer crossing County Road 49 one morning. I don't recall if I seen deer along the road during the day, but early in the morning you would see a good bit usually. I've never hunted on public lands so I'm not sure how it works. I did debate hunting Barbour WMA though because of that, but I wasn't ready in time for this season because of everything happening the way it did last year.

I went last year and got around good but a 4 wheeler is a plus to have. If rains some roads get alittle slick. If I go back I will take my side by side.

Question for any of you guys that hunt barbour, they are having a bonus buck hunt this Saturday and the hunt is from Thursday to Sunday and it says it's buck only but I've been on several buck only hunts there where they gave out doe tags of just made it hunters choice... have they done that any this year? Thanks in advance.

Not that I know of, but then again, I haven't had to go by the check station for tags since everything is done through the app now.
