I like Buffalo Trace but it’s hard to find locally. What brands are close in taste but easier to find?

Hard to beat Elijah Craig single barrel or small batch and they have a similar mash profile.

I’ve had luck finding it at the little Indian package stores. Got a bottle of Buffalo, eagle rare, and Blanton’s

I've never been crazy about Buffalo trace, and like you say it's hard to get anyway. I prefer Bulleit bourbon over Buffalo myself, and it is readily available most anywhere

Thebottlehaus.com has a wide variety of bourbons to choose from. Ordered a bottle of Buffalo and Elijah Craig not to long ago. Shipped to the door.

Agreed too.

I have been digging Chattanooga whiskey lately. When I want to splurge I get a bottle of John Emerald. Lately I have been drinking Wild Turkey 101, Old Grandad Bottled in Bond, and Bulliet.

There really a lot that’s comparable to Buffalo Trace. I think if you branched out and tried some other bourbons you’d find there’s a plethora of “good” economical bourbons. 1792 small batch is one of my favorites, but it doesn’t necessarily taste like buffalo trace. There’s so many flavor profiles....
There’s a lot of good YouTube videos with suggestions. Lots of good suggestions so far on here too.
Try a small bottle of Clyde Mays.

I remember suggesting Clyde Mays and getting dog cussed by a couple of y’all vodka and horse piss drinkers.

Benchmark is from Buffalo Trace and has the same mash bill. It’s cheap too. I’ve tried it and it’s good

I don’t care for a heavy Rye or a heavy oak whiskey.

I’m going to recommend Larceny bourbon then. BGH swears by it and it’s a staple in my bar.

I prefer to savor the sugar in my whiskey. I do prefer Canadian blends but not Crown. I am still seeking that perfect combination of burnt barrel and a Canadian blend?
