It was just sort of catch as catch can for dinner last night after church and our big hike along Little River yesterday. Mrs. Irish made her a banana sandwich and I had a bowl of left over Chili and a couple of pieces of Mexican cornbread.
Well, she goes all East Gadsden on me and makes her banana sandwich with sliced bananas, mayonnaise, and a slice of cheddar cheese. I almost had to go eat somewhere else. I told her I wasn't kissing her until after she took a poop the next day and got all that out of her system.
For me it's bananas and peanut butter, preferably chunky, and that's it. Sometimes I will drizzle a little wildflower honey on there and grill the whole sandwich in butter, especially for breakfast with a tall glass of ice cold milk. But Mayonnaise will never touch my banana. I love mayonnaise, but only on the right sandwich, such as a BLT, or in some coleslaw or tarter sauce.

My wife and son love there banana sandwich with Mayo & Peanut Butter. It makes me want to throw up every time I see them eat them.

Don't knock the mayo until you've tried it...now, can't say I've heard of adding the slice of cheese on there before. Give it a try. The salty chips add both taste and some crunch.

As a kid, we would get bananas split down the middle with mayo and chopped walnuts sprinkled on top. Very good!
Also had baloney slices and drug them through mayo as a snack.
