I don’t know why the don’t have enough sense to split the state. Where exactly would you draw the magic line? Hwy 80 from Cuba to Selma, Alabama River to Montgomery, I-85 to the GA line. Easy.

As long as you are going to allow everyone to kill 5 a year what does it matter how or when they kill them? I’m not advocating that we shoot them with rifles but if someone wants to stick three decoys in a chufa patch and sit in a blind all day to ambush a turkey I’m okay with it. At the end of the day that guy probably won’t get close to the limit. As others have stated not everyone is capable of covering a lot of ground every hunt.

I absolutely do not support the late opener for south alabama. It’s the dumbest decision that could be made for that part of the state.
The CAB and the pompous ass in charge set out to do exactly what they intended, propose extreme measures and make it appear as a win for us peasants when they only adopted a few of the proposals for now. I suspect they aren’t done with this yet. If we ever have a candidate that runs for governor that will remove Chuckie and eliminate the CAB they will get my vote!!

You nailed it and it won't stop with a turkey either. We will see something every year giving them more control and more constrictions on the law abiding hunter.

I’m with this lower limit to 3 and keep the season as is. I’m not in support of a lower limit for my area either. The property I hunt has an abundance of turkeys because we manage it along with the land owners help to support what we have. It’s amazing what some effort will accomplish and I don’t need the state help to produce turkeys. Their new regulations will absolutely accomplish nothing for producing more turkeys for my property. The outlaws are still gonna do what they do and all the state has done is created more in my personal opinion. The state can not enforce the laws they have on the books now around the 3 buck limit. Why they think they can enforce a reduction in the turkey limit is beyond me. They simply lack man power and officers that have the drive to do their job!! I know first hand what kind of GW we have in one area I hunt. He’s not hitting on much in my personal opinion.

I've worked and killed as many birds on frosty mornings as I have swatting skeeters, in Mentone, and that's as far north as you can get. I'd much rather deal with frost than worry about Mr. No-shoulders.

It doesn’t matter when they open season if there are no birds to kill. North central part of the state might as well be allowed to hunt purple hippos and pink giraffe. No danger in killing either of those or a turkey. The state never let the birds populate some counties before they kicked the door wide open on extending seasons back in the late 90’s and early 2000’s. Small land ownership and people turning them into powder puffs during deer season and it didn’t take long to kill them out with a couple of bad hatch years, natural predation and a little disease thrown in to assist in their demise. We had tons of birds where i grew up..then came the 90's..and by 2000..they were gone..i dont understand..an knobody gives a crap.. our ship has sailed.

Probably most of them in far north Alabama Definitely not (where I hunt)...the birds are pretty much done every year by mid April at our Winston County property. I’d WAY rather them move the season dates up to March 15th than back!!
