Basil Hayden Dark Rye is dang near undrinkable.
Straight Rye Whiskey BLENDED with Canadian Whisky and then BLENDED with Port....wait what?
All I saw on the label was Dark Rye and assumed it was their typical high rye bill that had been aged longer.
It’s bad. It tastes like somebody made a mixed drink with box wine and grain alcohol.

NOSE
Grits before cooking, sourness, boiled peanuts, rubbing alcohol and a new sponge. This is not a delicate dainty thing; it’s an ugly beast.
PALATE
Everclear mixed with 7-UP, dried corn, dried wood and an overall essence of rubbing alcohol. It tastes like rubbing alcohol smells, the aroma has permeated all of my senses.
FINISH
Short dry burst of toothpicks, everclear, dried corn and 7-UP.

Not a fan of rye whiskey.

Well i guess technically not a "Whiskey" But Eagle Rare is terrible, and hell, since i quit smoking nearly two years ago, i find there's several i don't like anymore including Buffalo Trace, bit Eagle Rare just plain sucks 😃

Oh yeah, the last 2 bottles of 101 we had at camp was God awful, dunno what they done/changed but it was only suitable for mix drinks....
