You need to know somebody that knows how to work that machine. If you or I tried to run it, we would have trees landing on our skulls and a bunch of expensive broke equipment.

What’s the going rate on something like that? Tracked Skidsteer with a drum style based dudes figure $1.50-1.75ish per HP per hour. A big skidder based dude figure $1+/- per HP per hour. I would much rather be over gunned than just sorta getting by.

I had a mulcher come out to my property and widen the road going onto it and make me a food plot in the shape of a turkey foot. The machine that the guy had that I hired looked just like a dozer with an 8ft mulcher head and a 300hp john deere engine in it. Who was that

Just wondering it sounded like some jobs my cousin has done 10-4 this guy used to work on pipelines out of town and had first saw these machines while working because that's what they used to clear the way for new pipelines. He said that he'd never seen one til them and got to thinking about coming back home and starting his own business using them for land clearing vs using dozers/excavators like everyone else. The biggest 2 he has are 600 hp and have to hauled with a semi and low boy trailer. I expected him to be much higher than the guy that quoted the job that was gonna use a dozer but he beat his price by $500 and there was nothing but wood chips left instead of waste pilled up everywhere. He said that he can do a job in half the time that a dozer can so it comes out being more cost effective because he can do a whole lot more in an 8 hour day.
