Crazy how some states procure public land for people to actually hunt.

Don’t know anything about the other places, but you could already bow hunt Choctaw….. now they will make it where you can apply for the quota and bow hunt for a weekend every 10 years when you get drawn. I would be seriously pissed if I lived in that area, because there’s not any other public land to speak of.

iused to hunt Choctaw with clerance yates years ago, it was really good, most deer I have seen,we camped in the corp of engineers camp on the tombigbe river, and canoed across the creek to get into the refuge,we killed a lot of deer, don't know how it is now.

The new hunt on Choctaw is a primitive weapons hunt. They haven't changed the rules regarding bow hunting.

I picked up the new ‘21-‘22 digest at the deer show. It has another new SOA listed.

There's a new WMA as well, Red Hills, which has previously been a Forever Wild property but they've grown the acreage enough that it will be managed as a WMA now.
