There’s a whole lot of info there as they go through several different states. I’ve only made it through 30-40 minutes.
They mention that there are state agencies who are paying social media influencers to promote turkey hunting specifically.
Arizona did this a few years ago to promote OTC coues deer hunting, and pressure has now become so bad there that those units have gone from OTC to draw only, including for the residents of the state.

Tennessee employed this same strategy using the hunting public.

They mentioned several states so I’m hoping that I don’t confuse the numbers between states.
Tennessee had a 76% increase in non resident license sales.
Kentucky had a 20% increase.
I don’t recall the number, but Missouri had just as many hunters this year as they did back in their hay day when around 60k gobblers were harvested in a season, only difference is Missouri just had their lowest harvest total ever recorded.
MS numbers were bad as well in terms of non resident hunters but I don’t recall exactly the percent increase.

So not only is social media causing extensive damage to turkey populations and hunting opportunities, but some state agencies are paying them to do it.
This is as far as I’ve made it through so far.
