“There are long waits in our ER, our ICUs are full. ICU units that are designed for one patient have two patients in them, that’s because of COVID. If you come to us and need an ICU room today, and you’re not COVID, you’re going to wait because some people chose to not get vaccinated and they are sitting in our ICU taking up a bed. Our staff are exhausted mentally and physically. We are probably short 500 nurses right now to meet the demands,” said Samz. “There are long ER waits, there are slower EMS response times, ICU patients on regular nursing floors. The individual choices people are making not to get vaccinated are impacting everyone in our community.”
Do you look at un-vaccinated people in the ICU as "taking up a bed", like the Hunstville CEO does?
Hospitals have had over a year to pivot and adjust their processes, procedures and overall prepare and stay prepared for this ongoing pandemic. Why have most seemed to handle it in such a poor manner? Or in your opinion, have you seen hospitals handle it in a poor manner? Or Are they just "that" overwhelmed?
Do you believe Doctors and Nurses should be mandated into vaccinating to continue work in a hospital?
The fool tells me his reasons; the wise man persuades me with my own.

Why would the cdc be against giving ivermectin and hydroxy chloroquine if they are both dosed appropriately for the individual? I understand they are both safe drugs, and can’t see the harm in trying them in very ill patients even if it’s not “approved” for this particular illness. The vaccine was “experiment” so why not an experimental treatment? It’s creating a lot of distrust and division.

If a deer has covid, can it be transmitted to humans? Unlikely in his E.R., I’ll wager. His handle says Deer Farmer, that’s what I asked.

Do you bother wasting your time arguing with folks that continuously blast the medical field, make up cute names for a serious virus, create nick names such as clot shot, start damn near every conversation with "The Left" or "Big Pharma" or "Woke" yada. yada, yada...

I’m not aware of an eligible group that I would recommend against them getting it.
Help me to understand why you would recommend I get the vaccine? I'm 30 years old, healthy, no pre-existing conditions, strong immune system (the last time I can recall being sick enough to miss work or school was 20 years ago)

Do you prescribe Ivermectin? Do you know of any in NA that will? There is a video posted here that I recommend if you haven't seen it. It is convincing of its ability to prevent covid which lines up with the few cases I know of personally but then again I have not took it and thankfully have not knowingly been positive yet. I have prescribed ivermectin to a few patients. I’ve watched some of the videos you may be referring to.

Just so we're crystal clear, is the graphic posted below pretty much in agreement with what you see in hospitals? And I'm sure you have contact with other hospitals and know their general numbers as well, correct? Probably just a slip up... but the graph on the left should all be black stick figures on the bottom row to match the data above it.

Can you comment on this video concerning the MAB? My son was tested positive yesterday and started symptoms 2 days prior. I will be encouraging him to get the MAB today. He is presently in our home and my wife has an immune deficiency. Even if she has no symptoms at the present should she now be proactive to seek the MAB. Would that be recommended for her now at this time? The video is with Dr. Thrasher in Montgomery from Aug. 23... https://youtu.be/TdddbUHsBoMThe regeneron infusion which is available statewide appears to be the best treatment available for early in the disease course the reduce the risk of progression to severe disease or illness. It is most effective if given within the first 72hrs. Based on the emergency use authorization issued one week ago your wife does qualify to receive the Regeneron (simply by having had direct contact with your son who has tested +) without showing symptoms or testing positive herself.

What do you know about the j and j vaccine. I read some literature saying it had the highest efficacy rate, but all you ever hear about is how great Pfizer is?? FYI I heard of 3 nurses who all had moderna shot 1 last week and now they are all sick with covid. In the studies I’ve seen the JJ vaccine produces on average lower antibody titers than either the Pfizer or moderna vaccine. The vaccines do not “prevent” you from contracting Covid. They do however on average greatly reduce the severity of your illness and subsequent risk of hospitalization and death. With all the vaccines it takes several weeks after having had the last dose to receive full therapeutic benefit from the vaccine.

Can you describe how the last year and a half have been as a physician? Has there ever been a time where you were most frustrated or overwhelmed? In your opinion, how do we end the pandemic? The front end of this was unsettling. I didn’t know what exactly we were getting into. For two months I slept away from my wife and children, showered at work after my shift and did not hug or spend time closely with my family in fear of getting someone sick. Overtime I’ve become much more comfortable with Covid and how it does and doesn’t spread. It’s been frustrating at times at work to see our nursing staff numbers dwindle for various reasons, to see our ER and our hospital become congested. This last wave has been especially tough given that every person whom I’ve seen with moderate to severe disease (other than one patient who had received the JJ vaccine) has been unvaccinated. Every single one of them, and I do mean all of them have stated they wished they received the vaccine.

Do the vaccines work in your opinion, and is there any group that is eligible for the vaccine that you do not recommend getting it?
If, in your opinion they do work, which vaccine do you recommend? What if someone already has tachycardia? Not a contraindication to receiving a vaccine that I’m aware of

#1 Why is it that Israel with an approximate 80% vaccination rate is still seeing an increase in Covid cases while Palestine with an approximate 11% vaccination rate is seeing a much lower increase in new Covid cases.
#2 Why are we freaking out over a virus with such a high survival rate. I'm wrapping my fight with round 2 as I type this. Hopefully my natural immunity will be awesome after this.
#3 I have read that the vaccines are causing the virus to mutate faster than if we just let our bodies do it's thing. I cannot remember where I read this, honestly.
1) I can’t speak to that 2) some people are less susceptible than others to the virus. Many people even if they don’t die will experience permanent scarring in their lungs or other organs including cognitive decline. I’ve seen a healthy 53 and 54 yo man die in this most recent wave who had both previously had Covid last year 3) I can’t speak to that. Inevitably either way viruses do mutate over time however
