Best thing I did when my daughter got married was to take each one of them to dinner separately. Wouldn’t even let my wife go. Told them to keep their arguments private between them and God and not let the mothers in on it. Also told them the idea of a perfect wedding is just for movies, things will not go exactly as they plan. But they need not stress over it because it will do nothing but take away from one of the happiest days of their lives. The only people that truly HAVE to be there is the two of them and the preacher. Give them a person to go to that is calm and level headed that day if there is a problem. Trust me a calm talk with the both of them will do wonders at taking away some of the anxiety and stress. My daughter still says that talk got her through that day with zero stress. Because she knew if something wasn’t right I would deal with it. The best moment for me was the father/daughter dance and she whispered that the wedding was perfect and she couldn’t have asked for anything better. But I will be praying it goes smoothly for all involved.
