Last week I was on a video conference call with 3 Federal Public Defenders who have a client in common with me. They are representing him on “Felon in possession of a firearm” charge in which he is facing a maximum of ten years in prison. They are all pumped up and preparing for trial and we’re discussing trial strategy, they were all giddy as if they had a high profile case. I get these charges dismissed on a regular basis with the State.
How do you get them dismissed? I thought it was common practice for the DA to drop them and let the feds pick them up.
