How many of you guys have seen a black coyote in person? Curious how rare they actually are. We've had one on our farm (game cameras) for a few years but I've never seen it in person until this past Saturday. Posted a video of it (Link below - skip to 1:45). I would love to get a full body mount of it but the odds of me seeing it again are pretty slim.

I actually killed a pump about 6 years ago on our hunting lease that was black. If he was bigger I probably would have had him mounted

I killed one years ago that was solid black except it had a white patch on its chest

About 20 years ago I saw a 2 year old buck running with it's tongue hanging out then about 10 minutes later 2 large black coyote's came strolling by on his trail not even breathing hard. I'm pretty sure they got him.

They arent really that rare although I imagine number wise its 5% or less........I've killed two of them and seen several more on camera

Killed one 30 years ago. Was in college and did not have the funds to mount it. Was a cool looking yote. Kept it for a few days until I decided that girlfriend/entertainment money was more important. Still married to the girl so I made the right call.

I’ve seen quite a few. Killed two. One was a big male and I tanned him. I’ve gotten them on camera a few times. They’re really not that rare any more.

I live in Birmingham and hunt around the Eufaula/Clayton area mostly.

Missed one at @ 400 yards a few years ago in the New Market area.

Customer I took on a deer hunt at a lodge in SE Alabama killed one... he said he would " rather have shot this black coyote than a good buck".

They aren’t rare. I’ve seen a lot of them.

I’ve probably seen more coyotes than most as I grew up fox hunting and we owned our own fox pen.
