Hello me and my new bride just got married today 11-06-2021. We usually go up to pigeon forge and gatlinburg every year but we’re looking for any ideas on things to do besides going into town. I know For sure you can’t go up that way without seeing cades cove thanks for any ideas

I hear anakeesta is pretty cool. I’m up here now. I usually just stay in the park if at all possible and avoid the tourist trap town of gatlinburg and pigeon forge. Check out elkmont in the park. The arts and crafts community just north of gatlinburg is pretty neat. Don’t do the sky bridge it’s a waste of money

Ride over towards Cherokee & see the elk ,Cades cove is a nice.

Try listening to Marvin Sease and then try listening to Theotis Ealey in that order on the ride up there and maybe they can give you some ideas of places to visit and things to do.

Go watch them make taffy and eat the pancake pantry for breakfast, Eat corn dogs at Fanny farkle’s
Go to Smokey mountain knife factory.
Drink moonshine at the moonshine distillery then go try to burn them bearings out.

Cataloochee valley is pretty nice if you want to avoid the crowds (somewhat) and don't mind the drive. I've always seen elk there and it has some decent hiking trails.

You could really liven things up around here with a “LFTHM (Live From The HoneyMoon)” thread.

Me and my wife are in our 40s and we love to ride rollercoasters at Dollywood with our kids. We do all the tourist stuff to keep kids entertained like alpine slides, tram up to ober to ice skate, indoor snow sledding, go carts, bunjee sling thing, and eat a lot. We almost always hit cades cove, and sometimes do hiking, but my girls ain’t in to much physical exertion outside of sports. It might be too cold, but you can rent one of those 3 wheel motorcycles or a Polaris and ride the mountains.

Hike Mount Le Conte.

Trout bite should be good right now.

Ride over to the Bush’s baked bean museum

Ride the backroads over toward Bryson City and towards Lake Fontana and on over to the Dragon’ tail. Then ride on through the Scenic byways that will take You back out in Pigeon Forge. Good way to get away from the crowds and take Your time and relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Log cabin pancake house is great, then just drive around in the mountains and take in the sights God put here for us to look at and enjoy, and then if you dont want to do that stay in your room with your new bride since its your honeymoon

On your honeymoon? Buy a few groceries on the way & hope it snows 5 ft in the next week.
