I had a Summit Viper for many years before my shop burnt March of '20. I bought a Summit Titan to replace it and while it is very comfortable it does suck carrying it in these rocks and mountains. I have thought about trying the saddle route but being 6'1" 265 and have a shot lumbar spine I'm not sure I can be comfortable in one. Haven't convinced myself to spend the money to find out yet. Same for me. The summit seat is perfect for my bad back and hips. The gap between them seat pad and they back pad doesn't put any pressure on the base of my spine.

Have two summits and a API. My new (this season) summit's seat straps make stretching sounds when I sit down and slightly when I get up. I stand most of the time anyway and I don't get surprised much by deer as I used to, so not a big deal. It will break in eventually. I've only been caught sitting down once this year and I was able to get into position before a bird landed on a rotten branch, which broke, and spooked all 3 deer that I was aware of. Comfort-wise no complaints.
