Anyone got a clue where I can find a couple of these ? Seems to be a discontinued product or "out of stock"
I've googled it to death.

You could also buy the metal and get a welding shop to make you one.

I HATE those things. Totally worthless.

Here is what I do (something my dad taught me):

Get a pressure treated 2x4.
Get a large U-bolt.
Drill holes for the U-bolt on one end.
Go about one half the way up the ladder stand and put the U-bolt in thru the inside of the ladder going outward to the lumber and
start tightening the bolt. Before completing tightening nail the other end of the board to the tree using 2 or 3 long galvanized nails. Then
finish tightening the bolt.

That will be a heck of a lot more sturdy and stable then that useless thing the ladder stand manufacturers provide.

I actually use two such boards on most of my ladder stands - one about a third of the way up and the second two thirds of the way up - on the opposite side of the lower one.

That makes the ladder stand permanently attached to the tree and it isn't going anywhere - even if the ratchet straps at the top break off.

You could make one similar out of tube stock in less than hour. Or out of a 2X4 in a few minutes. I'd do that before paying full price plus shipping.

I’ll check and see if I got some! My dogs ripped open a stand in the box before I got their collars on so it should be here somewhere. I’ll look tomorrow.

I found one but it doesn’t have the knob screw to tighten the two pieces together. Let me know. I live in Gadsden area and will be working in the Anniston/Oxford area tomorrow.

Another thing. The one I have does not have the split at the end that goes over the step. The split is welded on the step itself.

I am really weary of a stand using a rope to stabilize it and without a wide ladder stand. If the ladder is not big enough along and has to need a ratchet strap I will try to find another stand. Trees sway and can break straps or loosen them up. Everything outdoors seems to weather quickly too, so be safe. Remember once you fall you can't take it back. My 2 cents due to some past un-related stand issues.

Treated 2x4, cut a V in one end for the rung , cut the other end long enough to wedge tight to the tree , put a ratchet strap around it at the brace and tighten.

Those are easy to make, if you have a chop saw and a wire welder. All my ladders have a chain and turn buckle. Critters eat ratchet straps.

The wmhunter 2x4 idea sounds like the way to go. It sounds to me like the U bolt would be coming in almost sideways to the step with the holes a few inches from the end of the board. Maybe angle the holes towards the tree a little to compensate for the bad angle on the step. You would be good to go for many years.

The tree side hardware is just a 2x4 hanger (cut off the ears or flatten them out) and the ladder side is a conduit clamp. I bored a hole in that end and then cut the hole in half to form a notch. Start off too long with the board and shorten it to fit as needed. On this particular stand the legs wanted to bow in toward the tree but if the legs want to bow outward I put a ratchet strap from one side of the ladder, around the tree and back to the opposite side of the ladder to hold the legs to the board/notch. You may need a long strap (15') to go the distance but it sure makes a difference in the feel of a stand to have the flex taken out!

I will take some pics this weekend.

Those 2x4 photos above are a poor way of building a ladder stand brace.

You guys will like mine a lot better.

It seems like an adjustable cargo bar would work with minimal tweaks. I can't nail a tree in several places I hunt.

I finally took some pics of my ladder stand brace system using u-bolts.

I will send to sugar in his corn bread Jared to post for me because I have no idea how to post pics.
