Everyone that checks a deer statewide should now report it as killed in lauderdale county. Let’s have some fun with the state.

Not hard to do. All they care about is money and It's coming to them in bundles. Until that changes then it is what it is. Nothing gets planted or maintained and the money is going somewhere. Blamed it on Covid last year but the 20ish years prior what was to blame. I'm sure I'll have some people retaliate and take up for this crooked bunch over our wildlife but truth is solid. I'll be glad to drive anyone through the Bankhead and prove it. Nothing is done. I doubt anybody could even crank a tractor much less drive it. Prove me wrong.

This is a report on what happened after Wisconsin discovered CWD 20 years ago, its response plan (massive reduction), how hunters responded (similar to most of you are now) and what happened (decline in hunting interest, continued CWD, and declining revenue for the Wisco DNR):

B'ham Fred would have the more specific details, I think, along with some more vivid descriptive adjectives, but I think it was in Wyoming where CWD was first realized back in 1967 or so.

The prions that cause CWD remain in the soil even with different measures: covering, removing, putting on chemicals, burning. The researchers in Wyoming removed all the animals from an area, tested the soil, did things to it -- fire, chemicals, etc -- and the CWD prions still were there and capable of infecting other animals.

Killing all the animals won't stop the spread of CWD.

It was Colorado. At a Research facility. It has been said( I can’t prove it either way) that the researchers were exposing deer to sheep infected with Scrapie to see if it could jump species. CWD in cervids, Mad Cow in Bovines, CJD in humans are all the same type of disease where prions attack the brain.

Looking at the CWD HRZ map can I still take a deer from the HRZ to Florence Frozen Foods? The line is across O'neal bridge. HRZ is to the west and processor is to the east by a few hundred yards.

One of the first thing other states do when its found, is ban baiting. Kind of blows my mind to see them declare war but still allow baiting (for the time being). Guess they don't want people complaining "But I bought a $15 bait permit!"

I hunted Freedom Hills yesterday and it was a war zone. Just glad it was a mandatory check station day so they SHOULD have gotten plenty of samples.
