Can you covert a 36 volt to a 48 volt??? If so how much trouble and how expensive is it???

Plus one on BU. Got alot of info from there for my build.
IMO an aftermarket motor such as an EMP 2 speed with a good heavy duty controller and you will be happy with 36v. Im running a 36v and these two things make it a different cart. I also rewired with all 4ga wire.
Dont forget you'll need a new 48v charger.
There are a ton of things you can do for way less$ than conversion.

I been looking at carts for a year. My intention was to buy a cart that needed batteries and fix it myself. After looking around I'm wondering if I wouldn't be money ahead to buy a 48 volt already lifted. Any opinions or thoughts??

Its gonna be a hunting and around the farm cart. I'm not sure what you mean by a series cart but i'm wondering if I need 48 volts or is 36 gonna be enough. I'm in no hurry to buy and I want to be happy with it the first time. If you plan on using this as a hunting cart get a series cart. They are a bit slower and have less torque but they have less risk of burning up a controller when creeping through the woods.

Series and sepex are types of electric motors. Sepex produces more speed and torque and speed but heats up faster which can cause permenant damage to the motor and the controller. Go to www.buggiesgonewild.com and read up on both of them. They have pictures of how to identify them by the F/R switch.

I have had a built 48 and a built 36, the 48 was definitely stronger but unless ur pulling a trailer loaded down with seed you would never know the difference, go to d&d and get their torque package. It will run abt 10 mph but that's about twice as fast as I ever go while creeping around my property. Make sure you get gooooood batteries and upgrade your cables. Had all of my stuff done at plaza cart in demopolis. Good luck

My 48 volt.motor was 15.5 up ( bad boy buggy motor). My 36 is 8.4hp I think, it climbs hills just as good and the range is better, I had a 850 amp alltrax which is why my range sucked. I thought bigger was better....... Not so
