I usually don't score the bucks I kill. I'm not against it because it gives a point of reference. I also killed my largest buck this year, and did score him, but it was more out of curiosity before I took him to the taxidermist. He scored higher than I thought he would, but I was happy no matter what he scored. He was my target buck. I did show the pic to a few friends, but I kill deer for me, not for bragging rights. My philosophy is that people should kill what makes them happy. I was looking at some of my racks the other day and was having trouble remembering the deer. The older I get, I find myself doing much more watching than killing. I am more interested in killing a mature deer than what he has on his head.
