Got a different take than many of the guys on here. I have an EZGO that I upgraded to a 48 volt cart. I would suggest doing it yourself if you're handy... that way you'll learn how the system works and be equipped to repair some things yourself if/when you encounter problems.

In making the change, you'll need to upgrade all electrical components on the cart... things like the controller, solenoid, cables, etc. I'm not sure exactly how much I put into the upgrade, but I'm sure it was less than a $1,000.
