Shotgun mossberg 835 with 3.5” turkey loads. Nothing else is even close

Rifle, 7mm STW, hot handloads, heavy bullets, light gun, and possibly the worst stock I’ve ever held. Wasn’t my rifle and the owner asked me to help sighting it in. Told me he couldn’t do it cause he flinched too bad after the first two shots to get a group to adjust zero off of. I got it done but it was punishing.

Single barrel 10ga but the absolute worst cut my hand on the break open lever was a double rifle in 500 Nitro Express absolutely horrible recoil

Remington 870 Supermag shooting 3.5 inch mag blends. Shot two shells and gave the other three away. Turns out 3 inch shells in a 3.5 inch gun will still kill turkeys.

I’d say a Mossberg with 3.5 myself. However I’ve got a 35 whelen that weighs about 6lbs that’s pretty rough with a 200gr load at around 3k and stock with hard butt plate.

300 WBY Mag. I have never had a gun that I ever thought was even close to being tough. Never been a big deal. First gun I ever shot was a Browning Auto 5 at 8 years old. But this one hurt. Had a light synthetic stock so it kicked worse. It's the only scope to ever hit me in the face. After 6 rounds I sold it. I couldn't even sight it in. Too much flinch.

Mossberg 835 3.5", shortest time I've ever owned a particular gun.

For a rifle - it was a 300 magnum and I was 12 - Sr let me shoot his gun - he was visiting a hunting club I was in - he new it would Rock me - I shot - blood started quickly - scope goosed me good - had no idea at 12

Shotgun - mossburg 3 1/2 inch - busted my face open when I was in awkward position shooting - bruised my bicep where I prob needed to go to dr - had to shoot turkey behind me and gun was in bad position - even in good shooting position- that gun would whip my Butt - not sure why I shot it for 25-30 years

Shot a 300 weatherby in a weatherby. 300 hundred mag., in a ultra light stock. Gave me lock jaw. Absolutely sucked!!!

Lol my dad had a 300 win mag n it'd make u flinch after the 1st shot if u didn't weigh 300lbs
He had it ported n it was one of the best shooting rifles I've ever shot...I've had a few big guns but man theys a sequence if built wrong they'll knock u good

Nothing on earth kicks as bad as a Mossberg 835. Nothing. I’ve shot .50 bmg’s that wouldn’t touch it.

Yea - the 835 I shot was worse than the 300

I guess I’ve got to get out more. My very first gun was an 835 with a Turkey barrel and rifled barrel for slugs. I killed some turkeys and some deer with that gun before it was stolen in Atlantastan and I never once felt like it was too bad in the recoil department. Probably just the result of it being pointed at a critter.

I’ve never had the opportunity to shoot many of the other mentioned here but I’m not a particularly big guy at 5’11” and 155#.

An 835 with 3.5” turkey loads will detach a retina.

I hunted for a time with a BPS 10 gauge with 3 1/2” #4s. It did not kick as bad as this little gun.

Honorable mentioned to an 1895 G with hot hand loads. Its a teeth rattler.
