Thankful to hear he is still hanging in there. Prayers for all involved.

I’m taking that as good news given how bad it could’ve been and the risks that are still ahead. I hate that for him and his family. I hate it for the hunter that accidentally discharged his gun. I’m sure there’s a lot of guilt he carrying around right now.

I’m pulling for him. I’ve read that getting shot in the gut is the worst. He’s gotta be tough to have made it this long. Hope he makes it.

The update my wife was given was that the Dr. was able to do the abdominal reconstruction today and he was in surgery for over 6 hours. They got a lot of it repaired. They had to remove some of his small intestine, install mesh, and connect everything back. They’re worried about sepsis at this point but have put in drains and they have him on antibiotics. They think he’s going to be alright, all in all hopefully. As soon as he wakes up, he’s coming off the vent.

That's very good news. Thanks for updating.

Prayers for him. Don't think that I and every other father that have turned a son, or daughter, loose to go hunting on their own haven't feared something like this. All we can do is teach them the best we can not only by words but by example and then pray the lessons have taken hold in their brains.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

Just read that they got him up and walked a couple times today.
