We have been to Nashville.. it's expensive. We also go to Birmingham and Mobile frequently. Mobile is our favorite place to go bar hopping. Generally we like to stay away from tourist type places and find some hidden gems.
We have some of the best times in shady bars that are packed by locals... not in tourist type places. If someone said their is an awesome bar in Rainbow City and you can stay at the La Quinta... will go check it out.
There is not an awesome bar in Rainbow City, I live there, LOL. Lucy's is still there and Chestnut too. Have not been in years. There is one in Glencoe called Three Guy's Tavern. I know the owners and they good folks. Depends on who is playing whether there will be a crowd or not. If Tony Irby is playing, there should be a crowd. WORD OF CAUTION. Uber to hotel. Glencoe police are hell. Take her to El tapitio , get full of alcohol and head over to the Gentleman’s club in Gadsden . Fine lil establishment. You mean Upper Attalla Hardy's?

I will check these out. My wife does not like to sit around and watch a band... she wants to be up on the dance floor. Which is fine with me... I don't care. Upper Attalla Hardy's is a Gentleman's club.. I guess?

Dude, the "gentlemen's club" is a strip bar in Attalla with 70 year old "dancers" and a clientele that are on parole or have multiple warrants on em. There's nowhere like you describe in Gadsden that I know of. But I don't go to bars. But yeah, everyone in Etowah Co. knows about Bills Lounge. It's notorious, and not in a good way.

I thought the only night life in NE AL involved creek bottoms and coon hounds...
If you choose not to coon hunt, I suggest Kilpatrick outside of Boaz. Bring your best and sharpest blade and your most up to date English/Spanish dictionary.
You gonna pull them pistols, or whistle Dixie?

Gadsden peeps representing!!! Gadsden surprisingly has several white rappers who have made it big... Yelawolf and Clever. It's a hidden gem for a short vacation in Alabama.

Harp and Clover is a great restaurant/Irish pub. Wife and I eat and drink there a lot. Pay the menu no mind. Ask about the specials.
