Each year they say only about 1/3 actually reports.
We’re almost at 160k right now.
That means roughly 475k deer have been killed.
If our states deer number is really less than currently estimated then we’ve killed about half our deer population this year I don't believe 2/3of the deer killed is not going through a processor. I might believe 1/3. I do believe less may be killed because of the bs there is when one is killed

The majority of hunters are too lazy to process their own including me.

I put it at about 10% that doesn’t go to a processor. The majority of hunters are too lazy to process their own including me. None of these things matter just as long as folks do it the same way every year. It doesn’t matter if 10% don’t report as long as that number holds fairly constant from year to year. The GC numbers are not meant to show exact totals but rather just to show “trends”……It is meant to tell us whether or not the kill numbers are going up, down, or staying the same over time…….

I would say that 1/4 is about accurate on reporting I know several didn't even think about it wasn't going to the processor anyway. These are not outlaws.
A lot of people don't take their deer to the processor because all they get back is some nasty crap that looks like they processed under a heat lamp. Hotdog meat is better.
I don't think the buck/doe numbers matter antler restrictions are the only thing that will prevent people from blasting small bucks. You are never going to get everyone on the same page on any of this. The answer is I've got enough deer there appears to be near one behind every bush. I haven't seen a starving deer yet either. I wish everyone saw about 30 every time they went.
No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.
