I'm about to get mine done and have gotten 2 different quotes (getting someone to come out and give me a quote has been a chore in itself...seems most places don't want to deal with it) For 2700 sq ft, 1 guy quoted me $5600 and another quoted me $7000 (he actually measured it and came up a little less than 2700 sq ft) Guy I work with had his done July last year and it was $4500 for about 1600 sq ft
This is down in Mobile

That just seems high for asphalt, What is the price difference to do concrete? That is a area 20x 135, which is about 25 yds of concrete. I’m sure concrete is high as everything else but even slightly more wouldn't it be worth putting in concrete?
If at first you dont succeed, You may not want to try parachuting

Concrete is very hard to get right now. All my contractor buddies are having long wait times to get concrete. Plus, this project was supposed to be temporary and I was hoping to just put gravel down. Gravel not really working as good as I hoped.
Been like that everywhere apparently. My FNL was making and selling their own Septic tanks, but they had to stop because they couldn't get the concrete
Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many!

Fingers, have you checked on a tar/gravel job? I have a long gravel driveway and have wondered about the old tar/gravel application. Used to, that was 90% of the roads around where i lived.
The harder I practice, the luckier I get.

Word to the wise. It will cost more to do it right but if you do go the asphalt route, make sure that you put down a good base material under it and make sure you get good compaction on that material prior to paving. What he ^^^ said. Glenn Contracting is south of Birmingham but will probably travel to Cullman. Only one I would use back when I built houses.

A good base is the key to a road holding up. True. I tried to beat the last rains we had a couple of weeks ago and had a load of gravel dumped without removing the top layer of soil. Waste of money. Prep is key.

Yeah, my driveway is 1300'. I've done well keeping the potholes filled. But the wife thinks if its raining, that's the time to cruise down the drive at 35
