I’ve got about 60 old vinyl records I’d like to see if I can sell/see how much their worth. Was hoping someone on here could point me in the right direction as I don’t know much about vinyl records. Some are Rolling Stones, lynard skynard, Allman brothers, Kenny Rogers, Barbra Streisand, Tom Jones, Kristofferson, etc.

Anybody point me in the right direction?

I've got a collection of about 250-300. Classic rock and classic country albums are worth a little bit depending on condition. Most of the other stuff is pretty much worthless.. Reason you see piles of records at thrift shops for $0.50 a piece.

Discogs is a great resource for the actual value of an album. May be worth looking up some of the better stuff. I've bought a couple of rarish albums off ebay, but some times folks just throw numbers out there to see if they can get it.

I have seen some good looking art work, decorations etc using old vinyl records that aren't worth much otherwise.

Records are becoming a huge thing again with kids. My 17yo son has probably $3-4k tied up in records. But they’re newer bands. I can find out where to purchase used stuff.

My son seconds Discogs.

My ex-BIL ran a vinyl record store for a while. They still do exist. I think they even have some at the 2nd and charles locations in Anniston and Hoover.

I’ll give you $10 for a copy of Big Bambu if the paper is still in there

There is some value with them if they are in good shape - especially the cover. As others have stated, they are making a comeback with the younger generation.

I got back into the vinyl thing back in 2010/11 and slowed my roll in the 2017/18 timeframe. I probably have about 2K-3K 33 LPs and around the same on 45’s. Out of all those, I probably have 10 records that are truly worth additional value due to condition and being highly sought after. Out of all those in total, even when I was really into it again, I probably rotated about 20 LPs as main listening and never really touched the rest of them. Sometimes you get lucky at yard sales or friend finds in the attic but the market is pretty locked down and you’ll mainly end up buying pre graded pieces and you’ll pay their price and shipping.

There used to be a vinyl store in Birmingham down on Southside, across from the fountain. Not sure if its still there or not. May be worth checking into to see if they can help you out any.

New records aren’t hard to find nowadays. Pre Mar 2020, Best Buy used to carry a lot of vinyl in stock.

pay close attention the the pressing/plant location as that has a LOT to do w/the value of the record
also - contrary to popular belief - no, your Beatles record is probably not valuable - why? 'cause they made A BAZZILION of them
the fewer pressings & the better known pressing plants from back in the day will raise the value of an album

My 20yr old got her a new vinyl record player and a speaker of speakers to hook up to it. I asked her if she was fixing to start a DJ business. She got a lot of my old records from my parents house.

I read somewhere that records were number one again in terms of hard copys of albums. Digital won by a mile but among tapes, cd's etc it was the new #1 again.

I used to have a lot of them that belonged to my parents. I’ve never had a record player nor do I know where most of them have gotten off too. I do have a few covers that stay on the fridge outside that I fan the fire with when I’m grilling with charcoal.

I started a vinyl collection a few years ago, I’ve got a couple new modern bands but majority of them are all vintage 70’s prints. Dark side of the moon, Zeppelin III, 3 skynyrd including the street survivors with S. Gaines on fire, Cash, AC/DC, ZZ Top etc.
