We have our regular places. La Fiesta is great. Ate there once a week probably for years and years. Ritas are great but I really think she was wanting to try a new place. Now getting her to actually say exactly what she wants, well that is a whole different thread.

El ZunZun in Cahaba Heights. This ^^^. Back at election time they had the MAGA-Rita’s on special almost every night.

El Barrio downtown has good margaritas and food This is true. Depending on the night, the wait can be long. PS: Stray, if you end up at El ZunZun, do yourself a favor: get some Clase Azul Reposado on ice or neat. It will blow your mind on what tequila can taste like.

El Barrio is some of the best food(not just Mexican/Latin) in town; but go early. If they have Pepeto (a pork and fresh vegetables stew) and you don't mind a little kick; GET IT. You will take half of it home. Get the cornbread with it. One of my top 5 meals in Birmingham. They have really good Mexican Meatloaf

Sol y Luna https://www.solylunabham.com/They have many, but the “Sol y Luna margarita” is my wife’s favorite. Tapas are very good too. I recommend ordering enough such that you’re ruint and holding your belly before leaving.

They've all been hit
El barrio El zun zun Sol y luna
Little donkey, haven't been there in a long time. Kinda bbq meets Mexican, I guess they do OK. Was in Homewood the other day and saw that they moved, or maybe it's a new location.
