I also love that if you have your phone out taking pics, you'll be escorted out. Nothing worse than watching someone line up a big put and see hundreds of people holding their phones up to video
They literally will not allow your phone in. Which is great. You have to go back to your car and stash it. But they do have a bank of pay phones near the bathrooms where you can pick up and call anywhere in the US for free. Pretty neat.

They literally will not allow your phone in. Which is great. You have to go back to your car and stash it. But they do have a bank of pay phones near the bathrooms where you can pick up and call anywhere in the US for free. Pretty neat. I called my buddy from those phones. He was waiting by the phone to take my call from Augusta….. so I thought. The Jack leg fell asleep watching it on tv and I had to leave him a message.

I read yesterday a guy saying he walked near a person doing a FaceTime with someone by hiding the phone with a merch bag. I have doubts about that because the gate entry process is pretty rigid. a little over a year ago, they were talking about the possibility of him losing his leg entirely. Just being able to walk again wasn't a given and it was just a forgone conclusion that he'd never play golf again even recreationally, much less professionally. Today, after the first round, he's 3 off the lead of The Masters.

After his back surgery (surgeries) I said he'd never win another major. He won the Tour Championship at East Lake, which isn't a gimmie, and then the Masters. I was happy to be wrong.
After his crash 14 months ago, I think it'd be safe to have said he might never play again on a significant level. They almost amputated his leg, and his back has fused vertebrae or whatever it has.
Now, a 1-under at the Masters just 14 months later.
His personal and moral issues of the past all aside, and solely looking at golf and competitiveness and determination, it's probably the biggest story in golf since Hogan's car crash and return 70 or more years ago. And compares somewhat to Alex Smith, the former NFL quarterback, although I'd probably put his return on a higher plane due to the amount of pressure, pushoff, severity and all with his leg.
Still, just amazing to see that today.
Also, Woods took out a LOT of guys mentally. They're questioning their game against a 46-year-old with fused vertebrae and a rebuilt leg they wanted to amputate 14 months ago, who just shot under par at ANGC. They might not say it publicly, or at least not now, but I'll guarantee you there are some guys tonight and this weekend who will be wondering "WTF am I doing here if he can do that?"

Tiger had 4 back surgery's including a lumbar fusion and came back to win the Master's; and now this comeback from a possible amputation to contend at age 46 at the Masters. Like Tiger or not and with all respect to Peyton; no comparison.

And they did. Greatest tournament week ever. I think they had one "partner appreciation" commercial per hour or something like that, to remind viewers that Rolex and whoever else was still their partner and Burk along with the cancel culture could sit on a rusty nail and spin.

The streaming and featured groups at Master.org is fantastic. No commercials. Colt Knost is a former player who lends solid insight and knows when to STFU. Camera work is fantastic. It's a bazillion times better than TV.
These guys out early are getting a break. The wind is going to create carnage this afternoon.

how its done! A few years ago a bunch of activist said that they were going to boycott all of the companies that advertised during the masters. So....... Agusta say Efff-U, and didn't have any advertisers that year and just paid for the TV time.
