BB King, Ole Miss in the Grove. Either 1989 or 1990. I was on the student programming board, sitting offstage during the concert, and he asked me to carry Lucille as we walked him back to his tour bus. Sipped on some Hennessy with him and the band. Cool moment.

Other great concerts when I was in college: Pearl Jam, Nirvana, STP, REM, Phish, Bon Jovi, Aerosmith.

Eagles, 2 hour private concert for a corporate event at Chateau Elan in Georgia. 1999 or 2000 I think. Full 2 hours for 400 of us. It was awesome.

Bruce Springsteen, acoustic concert. Maybe 1995? Just him and a guitar, no band, at the BJCC concert hall. 3rd row center seats. I now despise his politics, but as a young adult that concert was fantastic.

1990-1993, Multiple late night blues shows at the old Subway Lounge in Jackson, MS. Was common for travelling musicians to drop in and play a few songs with the house band. Smoky basement room, with real unadulterated music. Had to get an ice bucket at house next door to put your hot beer in plus you could get some fantastic red beans and rice or a special sausage dog. White kids hanging with older blacks who shared a connection to great real music. Buddy Guy was the biggest name that dropped in one night. Loved that place. Building condemned and demolished in 2004.

Grateful Dead, 1987, somewhere up north of the Mason Dixon. Possibly Ohio. I don't really remember some of those late 80s. I was told I had an amazing time. Lord, thank you for saving a wretch like me.

Been to a bunch of great shows, But with that said I'd have to rate Prince in mobile (around 97 i believe) as my number one, it was an AWESOME show! I'll never forget that night or morning either 😉

Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many!

Although I can't find any record of it on the interwebz, I saw Blackfoot, Molly Hatchet and I think .38 Special in Boutwell sometime in 1984 or 1985. We stood within an arm's length of the stage and speakers. I couldn't hear out of my left ear for three days and am sure I sustained permanent damage from that. Even at the back of the auditorium it was one of the loudest places I've ever heard a show.

I saw Molly Hatchett in Pensacola, hands down the loudest concert with Dam Yankees 2nd place. The Damn Yankees opened for Bad Company, who turned it down considerably.

Pat Green opened for Hank Williams Jr. at the Oak Mountain amphitheater. Probably 20 years ago.
